When upgrading the stock stereo system in my MR2, I found
that there were two major problems. The first problem was that the stock sub boxes were inadequate for adding bass in
the MR2 that would support the incredible highs and mids from the Boston Acoustic Pro seperates I installed in the stock locations
up front. The second problem was the lack of space for mounting the two amps I added to the stereo system. I solved
both problems in the most efficient way without perminantly modifying my MR2 and without taking away any usable space.
The sub enclosures were designed with the perfect amount of airspace for the JL Audio 8" W3 subs enclosed. In addition,
they fit behind the seats sitting on top of the stock sub boxes allowing space for the t-tops and do not take away from
the healthy legroom and seat reclining in the MR2's interior. I designed the amp rack to mount over the spare tire in
the front trunk. This way, I can still change a tire in the case of a flat and have added room for mounting my
amps in the MR2. Both were very clean answers for solving the two problems listed above.
